Google is Adding New AI and AR Tools to Google Shopping That Will Improve The User Experience

According to the company, more than 1 billion purchases are made through Google Shopping every day. The company is expanding the functionality for users, which should positively affect sales. The features are currently available in the US.

1. Vision match

Uses generative AI to create images of clothes based on your description and selects similar products available for purchase.

To try it, the user needs to enter a description of the desired clothing in the search, specifying as many details as possible, and scroll to the “Can’t find it? Create it” section.

Google will offer several options for inspiration, after which you can refine your query and view products that are available for purchase. You can also find this feature in the left menu of the Shopping tab by clicking “Create & shop”.

2. AR tool that shows how makeup looks on a user’s face

AR tools help visualize beauty products, and now they’re even better thanks to Gemini models.

When searching for a specific makeup look (like “spring makeup” or “soft glam”), users will be able to try on looks with selected shades of mascara, blush, and lipstick applied to their face in augmented reality. Simply tap “See the looks on you” in mobile search and select “Try it on” to get started.

Now you can instantly test out complete looks by combining lipsticks, mascaras, eyeshadows, and eyeliners from different brands.

3. Virtually try on clothes on different body types

This is done so that shoppers can see how the selected clothes will fit on a particular body type and compare it to their own parameters.

First, they added tops, then dresses, and now you can virtually try on pants and skirts from hundreds of brands.

The feature is available in Google search or in the Shopping tab on mobile and desktop. The user selects the desired product and clicks on the result marked “try on” – visualization on models from XXS to XXL.

The updates are aimed at improving the user experience, increasing sales and reducing the percentage of returns. The features are currently available in the US.
